    There are three seconds of other-worldly magic in: 3:01 - 3:04......Listen to the two different ways he repeats the same notes - bowed smoothly the first time (and yet still with remarkable clarity) and spiccato (bouncing bow to emphasise the notes by introducing a tiny gap betweeen each) the second time (which requires an extraordinary level of technique and control). And his mastery of these skills is so complete that it's not ostentatious playing, which would obscure for us listeners the wonderful music. And all of this little marvel is over in just three seconds. Even Hilary Hahn (I've just checked) whose technique and musicality are widely feted - even she comes off poorly in comparison of this phrase.

    How many times do we hear the violinist going in hard at the beginning of this pieces! Perlman balances it perfectly. Played it like he was the composer.

    • @arazaratsyan6478
      @arazaratsyan6478 6 лет назад +9

      Yeah it's better not to play anything that's too hard for you since it won't be very productive, but if you must, then practice slowly is all I can say, especially for the shifts. Shift up slowly and get the feel of it as you go to the right place, and you have to get the shape of your hand and position of your thumb so you can play comfortably in the higher position.
      But if you've only been playing for two years you probably can't even play in tune and with good tone in first position, so you'd be better off not bothering with that "rehearsal" and just practicing fundamentals (scales with all sorts of bowings and parts of the bow of course, but also some études for your fingering and bowing. If you have a private teacher, they probably have already given you some; otherwise, find some or get a teacher).
